P.T. Barnum Pediatric Center P.T. Barnum Pediatric Center at Bridgeport Hospital
P.T. Barnum, the famous circus showman who delighted children around the world, was the inspiration for the Pediatric Center. This is especially appropriate since P.T. Barnum was the first president of Bridgeport Hospital! The doctors and nurses here understand what it's like to be a child, and be sick, and be afraid of what's going to happen next. The 18-bed P.T. Barnum Pediatric Center is—

  • The only Pediatric Unit in the Greater Bridgeport area.
  • The only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Fairfield County.

The P.T. Barnum Pediatric Center has department members with special training and expertise in:

  • Adolescent medicine
  • Allergy/Immunology
  • Asthma
  • Cardiology
  • Critical Care Pediatrics
  • Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics
  • Endocrinology (hormones)
  • Gastroenterology (digestive system)
