Outpatient Care
New drugs and new techniques allow patients to receive their treatments in brief outpatient visits, rather than having to spend a day or more in the hospital. Many patients continue to work, to go to school, to remain where they want to be: in the comfort of their own homes.
The Cancer Center has 24-hour pharmacy coverage, which allows chemotherapy to be mixed and given to patients promptly. Outpatient therapy is provided seven days a week, an important convenience for many. The separate outpatient area has comfortable beds and reclining chairs, televisions, and windows that let in plenty of soothing, natural light.
As an added convenience, patients can register right in the Norma F. Pfriem Cancer Center, instead of having to stop first in the Admitting Department. |
