    Advancement

    Professional ladder

    The majority of nurses at Bridgeport Hospital are participating in their professional development through the hospital's Professional Ladder program. There are three clinical levels: Professional Nurse I, II and III. There is a 4% increase in pay between each level. In addition, the hospital develops its nursing leaders from this group. Applications for promotion are accepted monthly.

    Education

    All nurses are eligible for tuition reimbursement for advanced degrees. In collaboration with area universities, some BSN and MSN classes are held at the hospital.

    Post-graduate perioperative nursing program

    The Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing offers a 20-week perioperative program that will train nurses to care for patients in the operating room. Selected candidates may be eligible to receive full tuition reimbursement upon successful completion of the course. For more information, go to

    Bonuses

    Referral bonuses are given to employees who assist in the recruitment of licensed professionals. Nurses receive monetary rewards in recognition of continuous education, specialty certification, longevity, and mentoring new staff.
