As a teaching hospital, Bridgeport Hospital continues to train the brightest new physicians and nurses. We never stop learning.

Thanks to Bridgeport Hospital's membership in The Yale New Haven Health System, we can offer the expertise of Yale University School of Medicine professors, and physicians on the staff of both Bridgeport Hospital and Yale-New Haven Hospital, to our resident physicians (MDs who are undergoing 3-4 years of clinical experience) and fellows (MDs who have completed residency and are taking further specialized clinical training in areas such as Cardiology). This helps us to attract a high caliber of young physicians for training. Our Cardiology fellows provide a high level of care for you in addition to your own personal physicians' care.

Bridgeport Hospital's School of Nursing, one of the eight oldest in the nation, produces well-educated nurses, many of whom go on to specialize in cardiac nursing.
