The Cardiac Operating Room
 
If the blockages can't be cleared by angioplasty, coronary artery bypass surgery can be performed in the hospital's Cardiac Operating Room. Bypass surgery is only one type of open-heart surgery: Other types of procedures performed here are valve repair or replacement, congenital heart defect repair, and repair of aortic aneurysms.
