Your First Office Visit

Proper diagnosis is essential when treating asthma. After making an appointment with The Pediatric Asthma Center, you will receive a comprehensive questionnaire to bring to the first visit. If your child has not had a recent chest X-ray, one will be taken prior to the visit. If your child is four years old or older, breathing tests (known as pulmonary function tests) will be done in our office.

During the visit, we will review your child’s questionnaire and history. Your child will be examined and the test results will be reviewed with you.

A treatment plan will be developed, and you and your child will receive extensive education about asthma, including medication administration.

We see our patients at least twice a year when they are doing well.
