Reach Adult Services Help You Take Back Your Life

Bridgeport Hospital's REACH Adult Program offers intensive treatment for people with psychiatric and/or substance abuse problems.

REACH offers three programs for adults and older adults: the Partial Hospital Program, the Intensive-Outpatient Program, and Outpatient Program.

The Partial Hospital (PHP) and Intensive-Outpatient Program (IOP)

The Partial Hospital Program provides structured daily treatment Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

In the Intensive-Outpatient Program, patients are seen three to four times per week, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

In either program, patients are placed in one of four different tracks designed specifically for their individual needs.

Acute Track. A brief period of therapy (a few weeks or months).

Dual Diagnosis Track. For substance abusers who also have received a psychiatric diagnosis.

Focus Track. Supportive group therapy for the chronically mentally ill.

Older Adult Track. For those who are facing the mental health issues that often come as we grow older.

REACH Outpatient Program

The REACH Adult Program also provides outpatient groups, offered one or two times each week. These groups allow staff to monitor patients' progress and help patients maintain their independence in a less intensive, more cost-effective setting than inpatient, Partial Hospital, or Intensive Outpatient programs.

Patients' treatment needs are met by a board-certified psychiatrist, psychiatric nurses, social workers, activity therapists, substance abuse counselors, and support staff.
