Record turnout for Home Run event

A record 750-plus participated in the 11th annual Bridgeport Hospital Home Run May 25 at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. The Bridgeport Hospital Foundation event, presented by American Medical Response (AMR), included a 5K run, walk and wheelchair race, and a children’s fun run.

The $25,000-plus raised, a Home Run record, supports the hospital’s Joel E. Smilow Heart Institute. Ryan O’Connell, MD, vice president, Performance and Risk Management, not only thanked participants on behalf of the Heart Institute, he also won a trophy in the men’s 40 – 49 age group.
