Congratulations to our award-winning physicians. Shireen Donaldson-Ramos, MD, won the 2014 Magida Award for the outstanding Fairfield County physician under age 40. Richard Torres, MD, received the Connecticut State Medical Society’s Paul K. Maloney Award for Distinguished Community Service. Darcy Lowell, MD, received the inaugural Community Service Award from the Fairfield County Business Journal in conjunction with the Fairfield County Medical Association and Richard Garvey, MD, earned the inaugural Humanitarian Award from these organizations.

The Ahlbin Rehabilitation Centers Speech Language Pathology department now offers FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow) to both inpatients and outpatients.

The Ahlbin Rehabilitation Centers sports rehabilitation program, offered at both 3585 Main Street, Stratford and 226 Mill Hill Avenue, Bridgeport, is designed to meet the needs of patients at any level of athletic skill, guiding them through recovery following injury and surgery.

Physicians can order infusion therapy for their patients from the hospital’s MedEase outpatient unit in Perry 1 by accessing Epic and completing a referral to MedEase and an infusion therapy plan.

Bridgeport Hospital’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee is sponsoring a Language Fair Friday, Nov. 14, from 10 am – 2 pm in the Fresh Inspirations Café special events room.

Only confirmed cases of HIV or AIDS should be coded and confirmed cases of AIDS must be documented for each hospital admission.

Medical Staff members are invited to join President and CEO Bill Jennings and a guest from Yale New Haven Health System leadership monthly on Mondays, 7 – 9 am, in the Medical Staff Lounge for breakfast and discussion.
