|People’s United Bank Wealth Management & Trust will be the lead corporate sponsor of the Rose of Hope Luncheon, an annual benefit for the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center, for the third year. The bank has been the lead corporate sponsor of a Breast Care Center event for over eleven years. The luncheon, which takes place in June, raises funds for the Center’s programs for underserved women.

The bank made the gift in honor of Norma F. Pfriem, who founded the Center. “The Breast Care Center was at the top of Norma’s list,” says Kathy Morales, a senior vice president at People’s United Bank Wealth Management & Trust. “We wanted to carry on her legacy.”
The annual luncheon attracts over 350 individuals, many of them breast cancer survivors, and takes place in Fairfield at the home of Patti and Tom Keegan.
“We’re so grateful for People’s United Bank Wealth Management & Trust,” says Donna Twist, PhD, the Breast Care Center’s Executive Director and Vice President for Development. “Norma was passionate about helping women with cancer get compassionate and quality care regardless of their financial situation, and this gift will ensure that happens.”
Each year the Breast Care Center helps close to 500 women access free screening and diagnostic services to prevent early death from breast cancer through its Medically Underserved Initiative, the largest program of free care in the area.
