Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center receives $10,000 grant from Maximilian E. & Marion O. Hoffman Foundation

Bridgeport Hospital’s Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center has received a $10,000 grant from the Maximilian E. & Marion O. Hoffman Foundation.

The grant will support the Breast Care Center’s programs for women in need, including the Medically Underserved Initiative, which provides free health care to uninsured or underinsured women. Close to 500 women receive free screening and diagnostic services each year, making it the largest program of free care in the area.

The Breast Care Center, the first free-standing, community-based breast care center in Connecticut, has been helping women in the community fight breast cancer for over a decade.

“Our thanks go to the Hoffman Foundation for this very generous gift,” says Dr. Donna Twist, Executive Director of the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center.“The grant will provide valuable support to our programs and services for medically underserved women and their families.”
