| Nearly 100 people attended the April 6 ribbon cutting and open house at Park Avenue Perinatal Specialists, which offers advanced outpatient antenatal testing, treatment and consultative services at 5520 Park Ave. in Trumbull. Guests praised the attractive, comfortable surroundings of the facility as well as its convenient location just off Merritt Parkway Exit 47, close to the Bridgeport, Easton and Fairfield lines. Other physicians and healthcare services, including a laboratory draw station, occupy the same professional building. An extension of the antenatal testing unit at Bridgeport Hospital, Park Avenue Perinatal Specialists is staffed by board certified perinatologists Robert Stiller, MD, Steven Laifer, MD, Gary Kleinman, MD, and Gina Dunston-Boone, MD, MPH. The physicians are all members of the Yale New Haven Health System-affiliated Northeast Medical Group. Additional staff members include sonographers, nurses and genetic counselors. “You are pioneers in bringing our core services out into the community, where they are closer to more patients,” said Bridgeport Hospital President and CEO Bill Jennings at the ribbon cutting.
Dr. Stiller and hospital Director of Maternal-Child Health Carol Papp thanked staff members for their hard work in preparing the Park Avenue site for its opening. “I’m hopeful that this site will benefit our referring physicians by having Bridgeport Hospital specialty services presented in such an attractive and efficient way and I’m confident that our patients will benefit by being able to obtain these services in such convenient, desirable location,” Dr. Stiller said. “What a wonderful facility—closer to the patients who need it,” Papp added.
