Bridgeport and Shelton residents are Bridgeport Hospital employees of the quarter (January-March 2011)

Burnest Hardison and Maribel Robinson, both of Bridgeport, and Louise Vargoshe of Shelton have named Bridgeport Hospital’s employees of the quarter, January–March 2011, for their outstanding service to patients and co-workers.

Robinson is a patient care technician on the oncology unit who has been with the hospital for five years. She was named the January employee of the month.

“Maribel can be called at any time for any patient and she responds without hesitation and with kindness an empathy,” her nominators state. “One quote about Maribel says it best: ‘Her watching eyes twinkle with compassion.’”

Vargoshe is a medical technologist in the hospital laboratory department. The 25-year employee was chosen as February’s employee of the month. Her nominators write: “Louise consistently puts excellence in everything she does. She focuses on providing the best service to nurses and patients, even though she may never she them face to face.”

An employee since 2008, Hardison is a grill cook in the hospital cafeteria. He was named the March employee of the month.

“Burnest extends his warmth and charm to everyone and takes time so that visitors are always welcomed,” according to his nominators. “He is the ‘air traffic controller’ of the grill, keeping everything moving and striving to keep everyone happy.”

Bridgeport Hospital’s employees of the quarter receive a plaque and a letter of commendation and are eligible to be selected as outstanding employee of the year.
