Event to take place at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo
Bridgeport Hospital’s Norma F. Pfriem Cancer Institute will host Survivor Safari, its fifth annual “Celebrate Life” event, Saturday, June 9, 5:00–7:30 p.m., at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, 1875 Noble Ave., Bridgeport (rain or shine).
Cancer survivors who have been or who are currently in treatment and their immediate families are invited to a free evening at the zoo, including food, live music and other family entertainment.
Music will be provided by the (almost) all-physician band DNR. Other family activities include face painting, airbrush tattoos, crafts, cupcake decorating and scavenger hunts.
Refreshments and dinner will be served by David M. Grant Caterers, Super Duper Weenie, the Cheese Truck and Mister Softee, including vegetarian, low-fat and low-carbohydrate selections. A special fifth anniversary cake will be prepared by Carlo’s Bakery (from TLC’s “Cake Boss”.)
Sponsors of the event include the Coca-Cola Kaulbach Memorial Pro-Am Golf Classic and Connecticut Challenge.
Registration is required. Call 1-888-357-2396 by Wednesday, June 6. There is a limit of five people per family (survivor and four family members).
