Rivera is a patient care technician on the Internal Medicine Unit. A 10-year employee, she was selected as January employee of the month.

“Joanna has a wonderful smile and a dedicated, compassionate heart that gently calms and comforts our patients and their families,” her nominators say. “Her soft-spoken, uplifting manner is truly a gift.”

Pizzuto was chosen as February’s employee of the month. She is a technologist in the Pulmonary Function Lab, and has worked at the hospital since 2006.

“Susan is caring and compassionate with the patients and families who receive care in the pulmonary Function Lab,” state her nominators. “She always has a smile on her face and a positive attitude to match. She has a contagious joy about her.”

A 14-year employee, Rosa works in distribution for the hospital’s Service Response Center. He is the March Employee of the Month.

“Tony is always helpful and friendly,” according to his nominators. “His customers are his number one priority. A customer recently asked Tony for the best way to get some items to the parking garage. Tony took the items himself—and returned at the end of his shift to bring the items back to the hospital.”

Employees of the quarter at Bridgeport Hospital receive a plaque and a letter of commendation, and are eligible to be named employee of the year.
