Bridgeport Hospital’s clinical pastoral education programs re-accredited for maximum term of 10 years

The American College of Pastoral Education Accreditation Commission has re-accredited Bridgeport Hospital’s Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Level I, Level II and Supervisory Education programs for the next 10 years—the maximum term. The site team’s vote was unanimous.

“Department of Spiritual Care and Education Coordinator Rev. Nancy Anderson and I thank you for all the work you did in the accomplishment of this large task,” wrote CPE Coordinator Sister Sara-Ann Buckley to a number of hospital staff members who supported the accreditation process. “Your assistance made the process easier.”

Bridgeport Hospital’s Department of Spiritual Care and Education offers full- and part-time CPE internships in hospital ministry to community clergy and religious laypeople. In addition, department chaplains provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families throughout the year. The department also coordinates the hospital’s Pet Therapy Program.
