Fairfield community volunteer organizes fundraiser for Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center

Fairfield, CT – Brooke Bento of Fairfield has been involved for years with the Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival, an annual event that raises money for charity. This year, she became the co-chair of the event’s wine-tasting celebration, which will benefit two nonprofit organizations, The Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center, which provides breast health services to women regardless of their ability to pay, and the Cardinal Shehan Center, a social service agency with programs for children and young adults.

Brooke has a special interest in breast cancer causes and decided to go the extra mile, organizing a fundraising drive at her workplace. She recently handed over a check for $1,000 and other donations to The Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center to support programs for women in need.

“Nonprofit organizations depend on community volunteers to survive,” says Dr. Donna Twist, the Breast Care Center’s executive director and vice president of development. “Brooke is one of those people who takes the extra step on her own. She’s a wonderful volunteer and friend to the Breast Care Center.”
