Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center Announces Board, President’s Council Appointments

Bridgeport, CT — Roberta Conroy of Fairfield has been appointed to the board of The Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center (NPBCC). Conroy is a longtime resident of Fairfield County and has been active in local charitable and community organizations, serving as a trustee of The Greens Farms Academy (GFA) for nine years. While on the board of GFA, she held positions on several committees, including the Advancement Committee and Building and Grounds, and was president of the Parents’ Association from 2003 to 2004. Most recently, Conroy joined the Advisory Board of AmeriCares, a non-profit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization based in Stamford. She has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and St Timothy’s Church.

“Like most of us, I have friends afflicted with breast cancer,” says Conroy. “It is a harsh reality that breast cancer can cross all barriers. The work done at The Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center to help and comfort those battling this disease, particularly the less fortunate in our community, is invaluable. The Center works tirelessly to help all women fighting this disease. I would like to have the opportunity to help the Center in any way that I can.”

Conroy holds a BA from Salem College and works as a graphic artist. She lives in Fairfield with her husband and four sons.

Kelly Kenler is the newest member of the President’s Council. She is a mother and surgical nurse at Bridgeport Hospital. She has been involved with the Breast Care Center for three years, volunteering on several events. Her husband, Dr. Andrew Kenler, is the Breast Care Center’s surgeon in Trumbull and recently joined the Center’s Advisory Board.

“It is with great honor and a privilege to be part of such a successful organization,” she says. “The impact that the Center and its volunteers have on the lives of their patients is something that I would like to be a part of and would take great pride in every day.”
