Your application packet should include*:
  • Completed application form
  • Official (sealed) high school transcript or official G.E.D.
  • Official (sealed) college transcript(s) from ALL colleges attended  
  • Official TEAS** score (Version 5.0) taken no earlier than February 1, 2013
  • Proof of United States Citizenship or Current Permanent Resident Card
  • 3 Professional References
  • 250-500 word Essay

** TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills):  As part of the application process you will be required to submit an official TEAS score.  TEAS exams must be Version 5.0. BHSN offers many dates during the application period to take the TEAS examination. You will be given an opportunity to sign up for it after your application is submitted.  If your file is otherwise complete, the admission review begins with the receipt of your TEAS score. BHSN Admissions are on a rolling basis.

The TEAS exam may be taken at BHSN only once during each application period. If you plan to take the TEAS exam at another institution after you have taken it at BHSN, BHSN must be notified in writing within 7 days of receipt of your first (BHSN) score, in order for this new score to be considered as part of your application. TEAS scores submitted from institutions other than BHSN must come directly as official scores from ATI. It is the applicant’s responsibility to make those arrangements through ATI.

The Admissions Office will confirm receipt of your application via letter. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that BHSN has received all documentation.

High School Transcript

Applicants must submit an official high school graduation transcript or an official high school equivalency certificate (G.E.D). Records from secondary schools outside the United States must be translated and evaluated for U.S. equivalency by an approved translating agency. These will be evaluated on an individual basis. Verification of dates and discharge status are required of applicants who have served in the military. The Admissions office will retain an applicant’s high school transcript/G.E.D. and translation document (if applicable) for a period of one (1) academic year. This can be considered part of the application packet if the applicant applies in the subsequent application year only. All other application materials will not be maintained by the school once the application process is finalized.

Pre-Requisites and Co-Requisites

Please refer to the “Non-Nursing Course Requirements Form” for a worksheet listing of these requirements. Refer to the “Curriculum at a Glance” section on this website for pre- and co-requisite timeline for completion.

The Admissions Committee selects applicants for admission after thoroughly reviewing the applicant's file. The Faculty and Administration of the School reserve the right to refuse admission to an applicant if it is felt to be in the best interest of the School or the applicant.

Students selected for admission must send a non-refundable tuition deposit of $150.00 within one week of the postmarked acceptance letter to assure a place in the class.
