Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing offers an intensive hospital-based program that is 69 weeks in length over a two-year period. The curriculum, based on the School's philosophy, objectives and organizing framework is comprised of forty credits in nursing and thirty credits in biological, behavioral and social sciences. Surgical Technology

Surgical Technologists are integral members of the surgical team who work closely with surgeons, registered nurses and anesthesia personnel. Surgical Technologists are primarily responsible for passing instruments, suture materials and supplies to the surgical team during an operation. They are experts in sterile technique and responsible for monitoring and maintaining the sterile field during surgery.

Sterile Processing Technician Program

This program provides individuals with education in sterile processing using the guidelines established by the Certification Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution. The course is comprised of both clinical and classroom education, for a total of ten days over a 3-5 week period. Students will be eligible to sit for the Sterile Processing Technician certification examination following the completion of the course.
