Rev. Nancy K. Anderson, M.Div.
Director of Spiritual Care and Education, ACPE Supervisor
Nancy was certified by ACPE, Inc., as an Associate CPE Supervisor in 1992 and as CPE Supervisor in 1994. She graduated from Candler School of Theology with a Master’s of Divinity degree. She completed her first unit of CPE training at Georgia Regional Hospital, an in-patient psychiatric facility. She did her CPE residency at University of California, San Francisco and her supervisory training at Sharp Healthcare in San Diego, California. Nancy’s focus in pastoral care has been heavily influenced by the work of Dr. Maurice Friedman, and Dr. Rich Hycner in Martin Buber’s philosophy of dialogue. She did three years of study in this area, focusing on its application to ministry in the hospital setting. She was Interim Director of Pastoral Care at Sharp Healthcare. She was Director of Pastoral Care and CPE at Bethesda Home for Boys, the oldest orphanage in the United States. She also did CPE supervision at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
Nancy became the Coordinator of Pastoral Care at Bridgeport Hospital in October of 2000. An ordained United Methodist minister, she is a member of the California Pacific Annual Conference.
