Thanks to the heartfelt generosity of Joel E. Smilow of Southport, Bridgeport Hospital’s expert cardiac care treatments and services now have a new name: Joel E. Smilow Heart Institute.

In 2007, a major gift from Mr. Smilow supported the creation of Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven which, like Bridgeport Hospital, is a part of YNHHS.
