Play Golf Like Tiger or Annika

Okay, so maybe you don't think you'll win a championship any time soon, but after taking the Ahlbin Rehabilitation Centers' eight–week golf-fitness program, who knows? The best golfers understand that a sport-specific workout program helps them to play their best…and it can do the same for you.

"When you play stronger, you play better," says Ahlbin Rehabilitation Centers exercise specialist Jack Russell, NASM–CPT (National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer), who teaches the course. "Everyone, from scratch golfers to high handicappers and beginners, can benefit from the improved core stability (strength in the torso), flexibility, balance and endurance they'll develop through this program. Plus, golf is much more fun when you're fit because you'll hit the ball better, which will help shave strokes off your score, and you won't run out of gas somewhere on the back nine."

The classes begin with a basic fitness assessment. Then the weekly one-hour sessions focus on increasing overall strength and conditioning, with special emphasis placed on the core muscles of the trunk – the "engine" of the golf swing. Stretching and balance are also major parts of the program.

Tiger and Annika didn't get where they are by working out just once a week, so as an added bonus, you will be provided with special home workouts so you can get fit and stay fit, even when you can't make it to the gym.
