Bridgeport Hospital Named One of the Nation’s
Top Cardiovascular Hospitals—Again!
|
For the second year in a row,
Bridgeport Hospital has been
named one of America’s 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals®.
And in 2006, we are the
only hospital in Connecticut to
achieve this honor!
Solucient®, a leading independent
healthcare rating organization, analyzed America’s topperforming
hospitals and identified 100 from across the country
that are setting benchmark levels of performance for cardiovascular
services. Among these 100 hospitals are Mayo
Clinic Hospital, Dartmouth–Hitchcock Medical Center,
Massachusetts General Hospital, Henry Ford Hospital and
Bridgeport Hospital.
According to the Solucient study, the 100 benchmark hospitals
perform more procedures than non-winning hospitals,
and have nearly 21 percent fewer deaths than expected for cardiac
bypass patients than other hospitals of the same size.
Bottom line: The study determined that people treated at
the highest-rated hospitals, like Bridgeport Hospital, have
fewer complications and return to everyday life faster than
patients treated at lower-rated hospitals.
Setting standards for faster recovery and fewer complications:
