If you have diabetes, you know how overwhelming
it can seem just to stay healthy. You’ve had to
change your eating habits, add exercise to your
routine and learn how to check your blood sugar levels
using a blood glucose monitor.
The Diabetes Education Center at Bridgeport Hospital
offers men and women with diabetes one-on-one and group
sessions to help manage daily physical and lifestyle requirements—
the lifesaving skills many need in order to avoid complications. Our caring certified educators (registered
nurse and registered dietitian) provide specialized care and
education. Programs include Medical Nutrition Therapy
and Diabetes Self-Management Training.
The programs are recognized
by the American Diabetes
Association for meeting the
highest national standards of
care for adults with diabetes.
