When you can't drive yourself

UVNA van ...(or when you can't be there to drive your loved one) United Visiting Nurse Association will get you where you need to go within the Fairfield/New Haven County area. It's like having your own chauffeur— only this chauffeur knows about and understands your special healthcare needs!

With this program, one phone call can schedule a driver to take you or your loved one to doctor appointments, to your house of worship, to the grocery store, to the bank, or just for a drive in the country to get out of the house.

If you, or your loved one, can get around fine, but simply can't drive, or don't own, a car, your chauffeur can be simply that-a driver, to take you where you need to go.

If you will need trained assistance during your outing-if you use a wheelchair, for instance, or if your loved one has short-term memory loss, your driver can be a trained Home Healthcare Aide.

Some kinds of insurance will cover the cost for some types of transportation needs, such as medical appointments. Ask your insurer.

Being ill or infirm doesn't mean you have to be housebound!

For more information or to schedule a driver, call Tara Nykaza, BSN, at United Visiting Nurse Association, (203) 330-5538.
