For those who continue to come to the hospital, there is good news. We have been using an EMR for years. The coming change is mostly a change in vendor and how the medical staff writes progress notes – which will be electronic. We’ll have challenges, but it is absolutely certain implementation will be successful, unlike the NHSD in 1990 when there was doubt.

On June 30, Bridgeport Hospital began offering outpatient radiology services at 4699 Main Street in Bridgeport, 425 Post Road in Fairfield and 2909 Main Street in Stratford (formerly Russo Radiology services).

Bridgeport Hospital is ranked as high-performing in Geriatrics for the third consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report.

Once you complete your required Epic training courses, plan to attend a physician personalization session. These 60-minute sessions are available beginning September 2.

Epic training classes at 276 Mill Hill Avenue (white house) are on the first and second floors. Providers should use the entrance at the back of the building.

The first Bridgeport campus patient screenings for TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement) were held in April by Edward Tuohy, MD, Cardiology, John Forrest, MD, Cardiology, Yale-New Haven Hospital, and Catherine Wright, APRN.

Bridgeport Hospital now offers a simple, 20-minute, noninvasive breath test to detect Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacteria, which are responsible for most ulcers and stomach inflammation.

The Reeves Health Sciences Library recently added a comprehensive video tutorial on diagnostic examination based on the DeGowin’s Diagnostic Examination text.

Bridgeport Hospital physicians and staff were among the more than 600 individuals attending the 6th annual “Celebrate Life” Survivor Safari, Saturday, June 22, at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport.

Improving clinical quality is the focus of the Yale New Haven Health System Cost/Value Initiative.
