Auxiliary & Volunteering
For more than 50 years, the all-volunteer Bridgeport Hospital Auxiliary has supported the exceptional medical resources at Bridgeport Hospital, connected the hospital to the areas which it serves and created and funded programs and projects that make our children, families and greater community healthier.
Bridgeport Hospital’s Volunteer Program is a rewarding opportunity for men, women and students over the age of 15. Volunteers generally contribute a minimum of four hours a week for at least six months. There are a variety of volunteer roles to fit individual time schedules, abilities and interests. Volunteers may work directly with patients or choose work behind the scenes.
Our goal as volunteers is to make the hospital experience as pleasant as possible for patients and their families.
Patient and Family Areas:
- Volunteer escorts – transport patients to and from procedure areas as well as discharges
- Patient Care Assistant
- Behind the scenes fulfilling clerical needs for various departments.
