AHA Pediatric First Aid

This 6-hour course is approved by the State Connecticut Office of Early Childhood guidelines under Public Health Code 19a-79-4a. It is intended for day care staff, parents, caregivers and teachers. Emphasis is on injury prevention with a practical approach to handling emergencies involving children. An AHA Pediatric First Aid card is issued upon course completion. The PFA Supplement Materials Certificate required by the state is also awarded at completion of course.

AHA Heartsaver-Pediatric First Aid with CPR/ AED

This 8.5-hour course is a combination of the AHA Heartsaver CPR with AED and AHA Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid and Safety. It is approved by the state Office of Early Childhood guidelines. Emphasis is on injury prevention with a practical approach to handling emergencies involving children. A dual American Heart Association Pediatric First Aid & Heartsaver CPR/AED card is issued upon course completion. The supplemental materials Certificate of Course Completion is also awarded.

Medication Administration

This three hour course will teach day care providers and camp counselors, proper administration of oral, topical, inhalant, and injectable medications. Instruction is provided by a Registered Nurse and a completion certificate is issued at the end of the session. This is a three year certification. (Note: State of Connecticut day care licensure requires annual renewal of the "injectable medications" part of this program which can be completed with attendance at Part 1 of this evening course).
