Bridgeport Hospital Foundation launches NICU modernization project

Spearheaded by a major naming gift from the Allison Family of Westport, the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation has launched a campaign to raise the balance of $7 million to modernize the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Bridgeport.

Yale New Haven Hospital once again achieves Magnet® Designation

Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) has once again achieved the prestigious Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), placing it among the approximately seven percent of the more than 5,600 hospitals nationwide – and one of only six in Connecticut – to achieve this distinguished honor. YNHH received the Magnet designation for the first time on May 25, 2011. Yale New Haven is the largest hospital in Connecticut to achieve Magnet.

Gina Calder of New Haven has been promoted to vice president of Ambulatory Services at Bridgeport Hospital. She has been executive director of Clinical Services since 2014.


Yale New Haven Health, L+M Healthcare affiliation receives full approval

The affiliation of L+M Healthcare and Yale New Haven Health was fully approved today by the State of Connecticut’s Office of Healthcare Access (OHCA). The parties received regulatory approval from all State of Rhode Island agencies last week and the Federal Trade Commission last year.

Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing holds 130th commencement

The Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing (BHSN) held its 130th commencement May 2 at the University of Bridgeport’s Arnold Bernhard Center for the Arts and Humanities. A total of 88 students from Connecticut and Westchester County, NY – 54 in the traditional two-year class and 34 in the accelerated 16-month class – marked completion of their studies and are eligible to take the Connecticut licensure exam for registered nurses.
