We Are Here for You
Bridgeport Hospital, a part of Yale New Haven Health, is recognized for advanced clinical care. We are also committed to keeping you safe and comfortable when you come to us for care – in our hospitals, at our ambulatory facilities and in our physician offices.
We are currently scheduling appointments, surgeries and procedures. Contact your healthcare provider if you postponed an appointment due to COVID-19.
Preparing For Your Appointment
With extra precautions in place to ensure patient and visitor safety, stay up to date with our latest protocols. At our hospitals, all patients and visitors are required to wear masks. We ask about symptoms and check their temperatures at the door.
Surgeries and Procedures
Our operating rooms and procedural areas meet the most stringent guidelines for cleanliness and safety. If you have a scheduled procedure, our teams will walk you through new, easy processes for pre-testing, arrival and discharge. These include using mobile device check-in and reduced on-site paperwork.
If you are admitted to the hospital or have an upcoming surgery or a procedure requiring general anesthesia, you will receive a COVID-19 test. We have established COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic and symptomatic patients at several locations throughout Connecticut and Westerly, RI.

While community spread of COVID-19 is still occurring, we will continue to restrict who can visit our hospitals and who can accompany patients to appointments. We don’t like limiting visitors, but it helps reduce the risk of exposure to patients and staff.
Emergency and Urgent Care
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, including signs of a heart attack or stroke, get help right away. Our Emergency Departments are ready to care for patients suffering from a range of medical emergencies. Proper precautions are in place to ensure patient and staff safety.
Any patient who comes to our emergency departments or urgent care locations will be evaluated and triaged based on symptoms. Routine walk-in COVID testing is not available at our emergency departments.
