Dr. Robert Bona, is a long time resident of the Hartford area, and current Professor of Medical Sciences and founding faculty member of the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. He is a graduate of SUNY Upstate Medical College in Syracuse New York and is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. Previously at the University of Connecticut Health Center for fifteen years, he was honored with teaching accolades and was the hematology-oncology fellowship program director.

Robert Bona, MD, is also Professor of Medicine (Hematology) at Yale Cancer Center and currently serves as the inaugural Director of the Benign Hematology Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Medical Director of the Hemophilia Treatment Center for the Department of Pediatrics. He is a leader in the clinical care and research of benign hematological conditions, having led several research studies, clinical trials, and care innovations to advance the treatment of blood diseases.

Dr. Bona trained in Hematology-Oncology at the University of Connecticut Health Center, followed by training in clinical thrombosis at McMaster University in Ontario.
