REACH Program

Bridgeport Hospital’s REACH Program offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for children, adolescents and adults. The IOPs provide group-based treatment programs for those in need of intensive therapeutic services following a psychiatric hospitalization or to prevent a hospitalization. The programs are structured, supportive and use a variety of group therapy interventions within a nurturing environment to help patients achieve their treatment goals. 

The Adult IOP is designed for adults ages 18 and older who need treatment for mental health disorders. The program provides three hours of group-based treatment 3 - 4 days a week for a period of 6 - 8 weeks. The program meets Monday - Thursday, 10 am - 1 pm.

Who May Need Our Help?

Adults who exhibit the following symptoms may benefit from treatment:

• Anxiety
• Chronic suicidal ideation and/or self-injurious behaviors
• ADHD
• Psychotic disorder
• Depressive, bi-polar and related disorders
• Stress-related disorder

Our Staff

The treatment team includes a board-certified psychiatrist, advanced practice and registered nurses, licensed clinical social workers, activity therapists and support staff.

Referrals

Referrals are accepted from psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment programs, or other healthcare providers. The REACH Program is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and by many commercial insurance plans.
