Over 130 Years of Tradition

  • 2016 Nursing Schools Almanac named BHSN a top nursing school
    • #2 in the U.S. among vocational & community colleges (two-year schools)
    • #31 Nursing School in the New England Region (all program types e.g., diploma, BSN, etc.)
  • BHSN was the last operational hospital-based Diploma RN Nursing program in CT
    • Graduated more than 5,000 nurses
    • Closed on June 2, 2017
Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing looks toward the future. In our rapidly-evolving healthcare environment, demands and expectations are constantly shifting with respect to the manner in which care is delivered and how professionals are educated. One of those trends is a shift toward a baccalaureate-level degree as the expected entry-level job credential for nursing graduates and an associate-level degree for the surgical technologists.
