Thank you for inquiring about the Bridgeport Hospital GI Fellowship Program for fellows starting July 1, 2014. Each year we offer one position in our program.
 
All applicants must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (a link to this website may be found below). No hard copy applications will be accepted. 

  • Bridgeport Hospital requires the following information from all applicants:
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal Statement
  • ECFMG Certificate (if you graduated from a medical school outside of the U.S.)
  • USMLE Scores
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Medical School Diploma
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation (one from your Program Director)
Bridgeport Hospital does not offer Fellowships outside the match. The Hospital sponsors both H-1b and J1 Visas for qualified candidates.

Caroline Loeser, MD
Chief of Section, Gastroenterology

The program is under the direction of Dr. Caroline Loeser, the Chief of GI and the Program Director of the Yale-Affiliated GI Fellowship Program at Bridgeport Hospital. Dr. Tarun Gupta, Director of Hepatology, is a part-time gastroenterology faculty member, splitting time between Bridgeport Hospital and the West Haven VA. The section of GI has 12 private adult gastroenterologists and one pediatric gastroenerologist. Each member of the GI faculty is actively involved in teaching the clinical and endoscopic aspects of GI as well as in supervising various research projects. Each fellow must complete at least 2 such projects during their training.
