Hospital Medicine

This unique Hospital Medicine Fellowship provides training in academic medicine, hospital administration and leadership skills.

The goal of fellowship is to train internal medicine or family medicine fellow to be leaders in the field of hospital medicine.

By the end of one year training the fellow should become a well-rounded physician and be a leader in academic hospital medicine. The fellow should have understanding of administrative and business aspect of hospital. The fellow should have an understanding of health care systems, should be able to identify current problems and sort out a solution for such problems. The fellow should be able to complete at least one clinical redesign project and produce scholarly work from the project.

Application/ Selection Criteria:

Candidates for hospital medicine fellowship must have completed a residency in internal medicine or family medicine that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical education (ACGME) and be board eligible/board certified in internal medicine/family medicine.

Since Hospital Medicine Fellowship is not an ACGME accredited fellowship yet, send applications/inquiries to program coordinator or program director directly, along with:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement
  • ECFMG certificate (if you graduated from a medical school outside of the United States)
  • USMLE scores
  • Medical school transcript
  • Medical school diploma
  • 3 letters of recommendation (one from your program director)
