BRIDGEPORT, CT (July 6, 2026) – Bridgeport Hospital’s Farm Stand will return Thursday, July 9, with a new partner, Cold Spring Farm, bringing fresh fruits and vegetables to the community each week through October 29.
“We see that access to fresh and affordable food remains a challenge for many families in our community,” said Brian Gomez, community health project coordinator in the Office of Health Equity and Community Impact. “Our farm stand will continue to help make healthy food more accessible and convenient while supporting local agriculture and community wellness.”
The Farm Stand will feature a variety of locally grown fruits and vegetables from Cold Spring Farm in Colchester. The first 50 customers each week will receive $5 in Bridgeport Bucks vouchers to use toward a produce purchase.
To celebrate the launch of the new partnership with Cold Spring Farm, all customers attending opening day on July 9 will receive an additional $5 in Bridgeport Bucks, for a total of $10 in vouchers that day.
Cash, credit/debit cards, senior and WIC farmers market program incentives will be accepted. SNAP/EBT benefits will also be accepted and doubled through a partnership with the Bridgeport Farmers Market Collaborative and End Hunger CT, helping make fresh produce more affordable for customers.
Since its start in 2019, The Farm Stand at Bridgeport Hospital has supported the redemption of more than $39,300 in nutrition incentive benefits, increasing access to fresh, healthy food for community members.
“The continued success of the Farm Stand reflects the importance of creating convenient, community-based access to healthy food,” said Gomez. “We are excited to welcome Cold Spring Farm this season and continue building on that impact for Bridgeport residents.”
The Farm Stand will operate on Thursdays with new hours from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 200 Mill Hill Avenue, and is open to staff, patients, visitors and the community.
