Bridgeport Hospital starts COVID-19 testing in Milford

Tuesday, March 24, 2020

BRIDGEPORT, CT (March 24, 2020)  As part of its ongoing efforts to protect patients and healthcare workers from exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19), Bridgeport Hospital today opened a second appointment-only, drive-through testing station at the Boston Post Road Medical Center, 831 Boston Post Road, Milford. As with the station opened March 17 on the hospital campus in Bridgeport, the testing is only for patients referred by their personal physician. Both testing locations are open seven days a week.

Only patents with a valid physician order are being screened.

Once hospital staff collect specimens, they are sent to a lab for processing. Patients will receive results from their physician once the tests are processed and completed.

Bridgeport Hospital established the station as a precautionary measure to safeguard the health of patients and healthcare workers by limiting their exposure to individuals experiencing symptoms.

For more information, contact the Yale New Haven Health COVID-19 call center at 833-ASK-YNHH (833-275-9644).
