Fairfield , CT — In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, jewelry designer Mary Margrill, a pioneer in the world of jewelry for more than 20 years, is donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her “I Am Healed” necklace to the Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center for their programs for women in need. The Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center provides over 1,000 uninsured and underinsured women with financial assistance for breast care services each year, thanks to generous supporters.
The beautiful “I am Healed” necklace is part of a collection of works by the designer, best known as the creator of several lines of contemporary, spiritually inspired jewelry. The piece was made with the intention of sparking one’s ability to visualize and manifest health as well as celebrating recovery.
The necklace retails for $160, and with each purchase, 20% will be donated to support The Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center. The piece, which is hand cast and engraved, can be ordered in sterling silver with pink sapphire; sterling silver with gold plate and pink sapphire; or special ordered in solid gold. The necklace has been featured on Dancing with the Stars.
“We are so grateful to Mary for lending her support to the Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center and raising awareness of the disease during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” says Dr. Donna Twist, executive director of the Breast Care Center. “The proceeds from the sale of her ‘I am Healed’ necklace will help women get the life-saving breast care services they so desperately need.”
Margrill became acquainted with the NPBCC through her friend, Daneen Grabe, a longstanding member of the NPBCC’s President’s Council and Advisory Board and a supporter. Grabe turned to Margrill when she was co-chairing the 2011 Rose of Hope Luncheon, the Center’s annual fundraiser. Margrill created a pendant inscribed with “hope” to honor friends at the gala. “It was lovely,” Grabe says. “Mary’s pieces are so inspiring, and hope and inspiration mean a lot to women battling breast cancer.”
