Fairfield , CT – People’s United Wealth Management will be the lead corporate sponsor of the Rose of Hope Luncheon, an annual benefit for the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center, for the sixth consecutive year. The bank has a long history of supporting the Center and its mission, serving as lead sponsor of an event every year since the Center was founded in 1999. The luncheon, which takes place in June, raises funds for the Center’s programs for underserved women.
Each year the Breast Care Center, through its Medically Underserved Initiative, helps over 1,000 women access free screening and diagnostic services to prevent early death from breast cancer. The annual luncheon, which raises funds to support this program, attracts over 600 individuals, many of them breast cancer survivors, and takes place in Fairfield.
“The Center’s Medically Underserved Initiative has positively impacted the lives of thousands of women and their families in our communities,” said JoAnn Keller Senior Wealth Management Advisor, Senior Vice President, People's United Wealth Management. “We are honored to support a program that does so much to help our neighbors.”
Television personalities Giuliana and Bill Rancic will deliver the keynote address. Giuliana, a breast cancer survivor, is the co-anchor of television’s E! News. Her husband, Bill, a motivational speaker and Chicago real estate developer, was hired by The Trump Organization at the conclusion of the first season of The Apprentice.
“People’s United has been a wonderful champion and friend,” says Donna Twist, Ph.D., the Breast Care Center’s Executive Director and Vice President Development. “We’re grateful for their steadfast support of the Breast Care Center.”
The bank was the recipient of the 2013 Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center Rose of Hope Award, which recognizes an organization or individual’s philanthropy at the Breast Care Center and in the community. The bank was chosen for its support of the Breast Care Center’s efforts to increase access to healthcare and the counseling, health education and wellness programs that ease the burden of life with cancer.
