Reach Program at Bridgeport Hospital receives $500 from Foundation for Life

Thursday, November 7, 2013

Stratford, CT – A grant of $500 from Barnum Financial Group’s Foundation for Life will help improve the facilities at the Bridgeport Hospital Reach Program. Reach is an intensive outpatient service for children between 5 and 12 with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Based in Stratford, Reach is designed to reduce the need for hospitalization, decrease residential placement and assist in keeping families intact.

“Children in the Reach program are struggling through school and life,” explains Dr. Donna Twist, vice president of the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation. "This gift means we can improve our facilities so staff, patients and families can meet and enjoy therapeutic activities in a safe, warm and comfortable environment."

Since its inception in 2006, the Foundation for Life has supported hundreds of organizations throughout the Northeast working to better the lives of those in need. Paul and Mindee Blanco of Barnum Financial created the Foundation for Life as a vehicle through which Barnum Financial Group employees could assist those in need in their community.
