Sponsors Help Make Rose of Hope Luncheon a Record Breaker

Monday, July 1, 2013

Fairfield , CT – A generous group of sponsors helped make this year’s annual Rose of Hope Luncheon a record breaking success. The luncheon, held in June at the beautiful estate of Patti and Tom Keegan in Greenfield Hill, drew close to 600 people and netted more than $335,000. The proceeds will help the Breast Care Center provide screening, diagnostic and other services to women in need, including those without sufficient health insurance coverage.

“We are fortunate to have so many committed supporters and friends,” says Dr. Donna Twist, Executive Director of the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center. “Their generosity ensures that we can continue to make a difference in the lives of women and their families.”

Leading the way was People’s United Wealth Management, which served as lead corporate sponsor of the Rose of Hope Luncheon for the sixth year.  The Bank has a long history with the Center, serving as lead sponsor of an event every year since the Center was founded.

The bank was also the recipient of this year’s Rose of Hope Award, which recognizes an organization or individual’s philanthropy at the Breast Care Center and in the community. Twist presented the Center’s annual Rose of Hope Award at the luncheon.

“Thanks to People’s, we have expanded our outreach and education programs, began new initiatives to increase the number of women who get their annual mammograms, and have most certainly saved lives,” said Twist.

The award was accepted by Jack Barnes, President and Chief Executive Officer of People’s United Bank.

“People’s United Wealth Management is honored by the recognition from the Rose of Hope Luncheon,” said Barnes.  “The event is an important source of funds for counseling, educational and wellness programs provided by the Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center, and we are pleased to play a role in promoting initiatives such as these that support the health and well-being of our communities.”

Land Rover Milford was the lead supporter of the Celebrity Champagne Reception preceding the luncheon.

Part of Bridgeport Hospital and the Yale New Haven Health System, the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center has served more than 20,000 women and their families since it was established in 1999.
