Yale New Haven Health named one of the top employers by Forbes Magazine

Friday, March 25, 2016

Yale New Haven Health, comprising Yale New Haven Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital and Greenwich Hospital, has been named as a 2016 winner by Forbes Magazine as one of “America’s Best Employers”. The "Best Employers" list features 500 companies with more than 5,000 employees. Yale New Haven Health was ranked 27th.

“As one of the largest health care systems in the United States, our efforts have consistently focused on providing the highest quality care to our patients and their families,” said Kevin Myatt, senior VP, human resources, Yale New Haven Health. “At the center of these efforts are our dedicated employees who are committed to excellence and patient-centered care. We strive to create and cultivate a work environment that rewards our employees for their dedication and supports them as they continue their professional journey through personal and professional growth. This recognition by Forbes helps to further solidify our position as a preeminent employer in our industry."

Forbes' partnered with online statistics provider Statista to choose 500 employers across 25 industries, which range from large corporations to government agencies. It’s based on a survey of more than 30,000 workers of companies with more than 5,000 employees who were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer to someone else. Forbes' independent study, which surveyed more than 30,000 individuals in the U.S., measured how likely employees would be to recommend their organizations on a scale of one to 10. The respondents were then asked to name additional organizations in their industry they believed to be great employers.

Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH), part of Yale New Haven Health, is a nationally recognized, 1,541-bed, not-for-profit hospital serving as the primary teaching hospital for the Yale School of Medicine (YSM).
