Bridgeport Hospital is helping bring fresh produce to the community with its weekly Farm Stand. The stand, featuring fresh fruits and vegetables from Smith’s Acres, is open through Oct. 30 and runs Thursday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30 pm at 200 Mill Hill Ave., Bridgeport.
The Farm Stand is open to the community, including hospital staff, patients and visitors. The first 35 customers each week will receive a $5 voucher, good toward a produce purchase.
The Farm Stand accepts cash, credit/debit cards, senior and WIC farmers market program incentives and SNAP/EBT benefits. The SNAP/EBT dollars will be doubled through a partnership with the Bridgeport Farmers Market Collaborative and End Hunger CT.
