Jill Atherton, RN, case manager, West Tower 10, won the Great Catch Award for trusting her instincts when something didn’t feel right. Atherton noticed that a patient’s husband, who had been visiting daily and providing steady emotional support, suddenly stopped visiting. Atherton questioned his absence and brought her concerns to a social worker, who requested a wellness check on the husband. Police found him and immediately brought him to the Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus Emergency Department for evaluation.
