Bridgeport Hospital, in partnership with CT Foodshare, marked a milestone during its November mobile food pantries.
On Nov. 26, the mobile food pantry at Bridgeport Hospital serves its 20,000th allotment of food since the initiative began in 2019. The program, which typically serves approximately 200 households at each distribution, reached this significant milestone thanks to the continued support of CT Foodshare, hospital volunteers and community partners.
“We are incredibly proud to reach this milestone,” said Gina Smith, manager of Community Health in the Office of Health Equity and Community Impact at Bridgeport Hospital. “We see firsthand how many families in our community face challenges meeting their basic needs. Through partnerships like this one, we’re not just addressing food insecurity, we’re helping relieve stress for families and showing them that their community cares.”
