Julie I. Leviter, MD

Julie Leviter, MD, is a pediatric emergency medicine physician who cares for children and adolescents with urgent medical needs, from acute illnesses to injuries requiring emergency attention. She provides specialized assessment and rapid intervention for a broad range of pediatric emergencies.

“I am drawn to Pediatric Emergency Medicine because it allows me to support patients and families during emergencies, and make a true impact on their lives,” Dr. Leviter says.

As an assistant professor of pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Leviter’s clinical and research interests include the use of point-of-care ultrasonography—portable imaging used at the patient’s bedside—in pediatric cardiac arrest and other critical settings to aid in fast diagnosis and care. She is also committed to advancing education for residents, fellows, medical students, and nurses.

Dr. Leviter earned her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, completed her pediatric residency at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, and her fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Hasbro Children's Hospital of Brown University. She pursued additional fellowship training in point-of-care ultrasonography at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
