Shabnam M. Kashani, MD

Shabnam Kashani, MD, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, partners closely with patients to create compassionate, personalized care plans. She recommends treatments that fit their specific needs and goals. Known for her innovative surgical techniques, Dr. Kashani has developed a unique approach for removing large ovarian cysts through a very small incision, offering effective treatment with minimal invasiveness. She specializes in the care of patients with complex benign conditions, including fibroids, endometriosis and ovarian cysts.

Dr. Kashani earned her medical degree from the Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS). She completed internship and residency in OB/GYN at Bridgeport Hospital, stayed for fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) and has remained part of the core faculty. Her excellence in clinical care, teaching, and mentorship has earned her multiple national faculty awards, repeated recognition as a Connecticut Magazine Top Doctor, and several additional honors. She serves as the obstetrics and gynecology director of ambulatory care services. In her free time, Dr. Kashani enjoys gardening, traveling, and exploring different cultures and countries, experiences that broaden her perspective and enrich her approach to patient care. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and is fluent in English and Farsi/Persian.
