Our team of orthopedic specialists focus on providing safe and effective treatment and recovery plans that are tailored to the individual patient. Medication may be prescribed, or patients may benefit from modified activity, physical or occupational therapy or a combination of these treatments. Surgery, if necessary, is performed by our highly-skilled, expert orthopedic surgeons.

Spine Treatment

Our spine specialists provide assessment and treatment for a variety neck, back and spinal conditions as a result of injury, congenital disorder or degeneration. Known for its quality of care, our dedicated team includes specially trained orthopedic and neurosurgeons, nurses, physical therapists, physician assistants, nursing assistants, rehabilitation specialists, case managers and a program coordinator.

Rehabilitation

At Bridgeport Hospital, a team of specialists works with each patient to achieve optimal mobility. The team includes:

  • Orthopedic Nurses: Our team includes nurses who focus on orthopedic surgical and post-surgical treatment. All registered nurses and nursing assistants complete a rigorous training program for this specialty.
  • Physical Therapists (PTs) and Occupational Therapists (OTs): These therapists are trained to help patients safely start to move after surgery. They develop individual treatment plans to help reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability.

Outpatient services are offered at multiple Ahlbin Rehabilitation Centers. Inpatient care is offered at the Yale New Haven Hospital Rehabilitation and Wellness Center at the Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus.
