Bridgeport Hospital to host wound science symposium March 16

BRIDGEPORT, CT (March 1, 2018) – The Bridgeport Hospital Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine will host its fourth annual Wound Science Symposium 7:30 am - 4 pm Friday, March 16, in the Hollander Auditorium at the hospital, 267 Grant St. Registration is $50, including lunch and payable by credit card only. Call 888-357-2396 by Friday, March 9.

The symposium brings together leading experts in wound care from throughout Connecticut and beyond to discuss common wound care challenges, with an emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of wounds. Presentations will cover management of the diabetic foot, thermal injuries of the foot, wound infection, complex wound management and palliative wound care options.

The keynote speaker is Oscar Alvarez, PhD, program director and director of clinical research, Vascular and Wound Care Center, University Hospital, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, who will speak about “Palliative Wound Care: Pearls and Pitfalls.”
